Odigo Essential pour les équipes

OUR APPROACH

Since 1986, Odigo has drawn a continuous line between people and technology. Forty years on, we've decided to give a voice back to those who have driven this adventure: founders, engineers, lawyers, BU directors, pre-sales managers. Their testimonies make up a living history of innovation, between archives and a look ahead to 2026.

THE FOUNDER - INTERVIEW N°00

Alain Bernard

From Sup’Aéro to the first lines of the French telecom network, Alain Bernard retraces forty years of an extraordinary adventure: the birth of the telephone kiosk in 1984, the creation of SJT then Prosodie, the regulatory battles against the State, and the three strands of founding DNA that Odigo still carries today. An entrepreneurial saga that began on the tarmac of Lannion airport.

Seek out what doesn’t yet exist, be the only one in a niche, and turn a technical constraint into a business opportunity.

01

Innovation in use

Making the telephone interactive and useful for everyone, even before the concept of voice service existed.

02

Business model innovation

Invent surcharges, payouts to content creators, then cloud subscriptions.

03

Infrastructure innovation

Keeping up with massive volumes since Santa Claus and his ten million calls.

Moments of innovation

1986-1994

The IVR era

The first voice servers transformed the switchboard into an intelligent interface. Connection to banking databases changes everything.

1994-2000

Always too early

Internet by satellite, secure payment, audio streaming: Prosodie invented uses that the market would only discover ten years later.

2000-2008

The virtual set

Even before the concept, Prosodie built a virtual call center for 5,000 agents distributed nationwide. Innovation by constraint.

2006-2012

Birth of Odigo

From CST Bandeau artisanal to ACD industriel: an internal competition gives birth to a brand, a major contract (Pôle Emploi) gives it its dimension.

2012-2022

Cloud & AI

The CCaaS shift, followed by the integration of NLP and the first language models. The agent is augmented. Customer relations become predictive.
